About Joel

Joel Comm has been building online since 1995, when he launched one of the earliest consumer websites. Since then he has co-founded the company that became Yahoo Games, written a New York Times bestseller, produced a number one App Store app, co-hosted the Bad Crypto Podcast, and spoken on the TEDx stage. Today he hosts the AI for Everyone Show and helps non-technical leaders turn AI from a source of anxiety into a practical advantage. His talks blend live demos, plain-language frameworks, and real stories from four decades of technology shifts, so audiences leave knowing exactly what to do next.

Joel Comm has spent his career at the front edge of new technology, and his message to audiences is refreshingly calm: you have been through disruption before, and you can lead through this one too. He brings a rare long view to the AI conversation, having built and launched products through every major shift of the internet era.

In 1995 he launched WorldVillage.com, one of the earliest consumer websites. Two years later he co-founded ClassicGames, which was acquired by Yahoo and became Yahoo Games. He went on to write The AdSense Code, a New York Times bestseller, along with Twitter Power and KaChing for Wiley and The Fun Formula. In 2008 he produced the iFart app, which reached number one on the Apple App Store and drew coverage from The Daily Show. He starred in his own online reality series, The Next Internet Millionaire, and in 2017 he began co-hosting the Bad Crypto Podcast with Travis Wright. His TEDxMileHigh talk explored what it means to stay human in a digital age.

Today Joel’s focus is artificial intelligence for people who do not consider themselves technical. He hosts the AI for Everyone Show, and his forthcoming book, AI Made Simple, will be published by Morgan James. On stage, he skips the hype and the jargon. Instead, he runs live demonstrations, shares honest stories of wins and failures, and gives leaders practical frameworks they can put to work the following Monday.

His signature framework, the Disruption Confidence Cycle, traces five stages that people and organizations move through when new technology arrives: Disruption, Doubt, Clarity, Confidence, and Momentum. It resonates especially with experienced leaders who wonder whether their expertise still counts, and it gives teams a common language for discussing where they stand with AI and what to do next.

Joel has spoken to or worked with organizations including Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, T-Mobile, the United Nations, and Harvard Business School, and his work has been featured by outlets such as CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, Forbes, and The New York Times. He customizes every session to the audience’s industry and roles, and he delivers keynotes, hands-on workshops, and virtual programs. Based in Puerto Rico, he is also the founder of AI Keynote Speaker Bureau.

What Joel brings to your stage

01

AI Made Simple

A hands-on program for professionals who know AI matters but have not yet made it part of their daily work. No coding background is required. Joel opens with an honest look at what today's AI tools can and cannot do, then walks the room through live demonstrations matched to the audience's roles and industry. Participants try each tool with guidance and map it to their own workflows. Often paired as a keynote followed by a workshop, it turns curiosity into everyday, confident use.

Audience takeaways

  • A clear, jargon-free picture of what current AI tools do well and where they fall short
  • Role-specific tools demonstrated live and tried in the room
  • A personal action plan naming the first three workflows to bring AI into

Formats: Keynote, Workshop

02

The Disruption Confidence Cycle

Every major technology wave, from the early web to search, social, mobile, blockchain, and now AI, has followed a similar arc. Joel has worked through all of them, and in this keynote he lays out his five-stage framework: Disruption, Doubt, Clarity, Confidence, and Momentum. Written for experienced leaders who feel their expertise is suddenly in question, the talk shows why seasoned judgment is an asset in an AI moment, how to get unstuck from doubt, and how small, steady experiments build lasting momentum.

Audience takeaways

  • A shared vocabulary for where individuals and teams sit on the AI adoption curve
  • Why hard-won experience helps separate real change from hype
  • Practical next steps for moving from doubt to confident action

03

The Fun Formula

Many audiences are working harder than ever and enjoying it less. Based on Joel's book of the same name, this keynote looks at three qualities that shape whether people thrive over the long run: curiosity, risk-taking, and serendipity. It is built to be practical rather than purely motivational, with tools attendees can apply right away and examples tailored to the audience's industry. It works well for groups facing burnout or teams rethinking what success looks like for them.

Audience takeaways

  • A personal score across curiosity, risk-taking, and serendipity
  • One manageable risk to take within the next 30 days
  • Simple routine changes that open the door to new opportunities
